Fresh does not = flavorful. A plate of fresh fish will still taste like dirty sea water if you just throw it in a pan without seasoning.

I was in Spain for a work trip and ended up sick there. All I wanted was something with carbonation like a sprite to feel better. All they had was fanta at the hotel. I got it and not only did it taste kind of like juice, but it was flat. I cried.
