BSD is cool for servers or someone who needs full privacy, but totally not for desktop and everyday use. There is no proprietary drivers, no steam, no fine hardware support, packages.. they have them, but not as much like even debian or ubuntu. Linux on desktop is the only competetor in the desktop users, excluding macos ofc
