@aljazeeraenglish: Clashes have broken out between police and mourners during a funeral of a suspected Ebola victim in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Police fired tear gas to keep the crowd from seizing the coffin, as healthcare workers rushed to take the body away.
Lack of education to the public on how dangerous this virus can be, its deadly, first people become afraid with lack of knowledge and understanding. With minimal support such as education, medical supplies and governmental overseeing of the actual medical site can be catastrophic. Ebola is a deadly virus spread by bodily fluid and can still be transmitted after death. I understand every country has there own mourning process but viruses and bacteria dont mourn it wants to survive any person in contact with this virus needs to now the transmission, risks, and outcome. Violence in the community only puts more non trust on medical workers trying to prevent spread and death. Please Africa start hosting community educational days, provide correct ppe to not just healthcare workers but the community, which also includes soap, and water for handwashing. Provide door to door educational brochures and evidence of the virus in lamen terms for those with no to minimal education, more needs to be done to protect the community and healthcare workers in Africa
