Also, overdoing it on the "look it didn't work" by setting it off intentionally isn't normal. If it's tight I did better setting facing away from the net, personal D1 setting preference.

I really like the distance cue. The right shoulder is absolutely key in back setting. Facing the net allows you to more naturally follow through with the motion, set a faster pace, and cover your attacker.
