Don’t do stones 😩 they look pretty to start with but they go everywhere and it’s just a hassle a few years down the line!

id recomend only planting a tree in a pot as they can grow under the house foundations and this can result in subsidance which can be very expensive to rectify

Hi, you might want to rethink Cotswold Stone. It looks great in the first year but discoloures by year two and can look not that great. Depends on how much time you're willing to give to keep it looking good. Golden gravel/stones may be a better choice for less maintenance but YMMV. Xx

If you use gravel flint gravel from Devon is very hard-wearing and looks nice.

I recommend using some gravel & stone glue to keep them in place and make moving the bins easier. I am in a new build, with a vast amount of stones and gluing them down has been the best thing!!

we ended up turfing the front of our new build with a little lilac tree in the middle, gravel goes green and weeds still get in it and needs to be topped up no idea where it goes. we also tried other "pretty" plants but we went back to all lavender they grow anywhere and can be neglected after they are established smells lovely and the bees go crazy over it. only needs to be cut back once a year or twice if you can be bothered.

If your going to do stones pour weed killer all over the ground your doing it on and then get a plastic sheet thing and put that down and then the stones to stop the weeds coming through

Hnestly don't gravel where you keep your bins, mine is gravel and the bins being pullef out spread it everywhere
