I feel so bad everytime I look at a service dog for to long IM NOT TRYNA STARE I just can’t help how beautiful they are and knowing the fact they’re literally saving their handlers life and makes their lives 100% easier just warms my heart 😭 massive respect for service dogs they’re such amazing intelligent animals 😭😭🫶

i always ask to pet dogs and if i get told i can then awesome! if i get told that i cant pet someone's dog i respect that and politely walk away. people HAVE to stop petting dogs they dont know without permission - ANY dog. my pup isnt a service dog but he IS a fear reactive dog and doesnt like to be touched by strangers 👍

I won’t lie I look, say “mom look how pretty that service dog is” without looking again my mom says “yea their pretty” we don’t look at the dog again or speak to the owner or the take photos. We look once and walk away.

As a dog owner I will always look at every dog I see on the street. Maybe it's from habit that I have to keep my concentration to see that it doesn't come near my dog or maybe it's just because it cute😭😭😭

the time I was at this busy store like it was so busy people were shoulder to shoulder and i accidentally touched someone's service dog and i immediately apologized and the person said "Oh i didn't notice thanks for being honest"

is the general take of photos of other peoples dogs in public no? i ask because whenever i see a cute dog i wanna take a picture of it SO BAD but i also feel like it might be disrespectful/a privacy violation. is it just one of those things you ask for?

This is prolly super unrelated but I’ve seen that sd handlers tend to be approached less when they don’t have the vest on. I have this firsthand too, I tend to notice dogs with sd vests on way more than I do dogs without them. Ugh I wish people left sds and their handlers alone tho
