@adventurethroughhistory: On April 14 1912, The Titanic hit an Iceberg and sank with the loss of 1500 people. We all know that , but what many people don’t realise. Is that over a third of all deaths were crew from Southhampton. Titanic would depart from this maritime city in England taking with her hundreds of local people in numerous roles onboard. Many people in Southampton lost a relative that night, and to find information they came here. To the old ‘White Star Line’ headquarters. Almost coincidentally, the pre departure hotel for the First Class passengers is on the same street. So many people checked out of that hotel , or left their home that day. And were lost at sea forever. #titanic #southampton #whitestarline #sinking #disaster
It’s been years since I learned something new on the titanic. Your channel is incredible. I think you’d be excellent at long form content too! 👏

Southampton should have the biggest Titanic museum in the world , yet it’s a small one that’s hard to find down a side street .

I have been obsessed with the Titanic before the movie even came out. When I was a kid a family friend introduced me to her friends mother. She was a second clas passenger on the Titanic. If i remember correctly she was 21 and coming to America from Ireland to be domesticated help in Florida

Belfast really cashes in on the Titanic legacy. (And rightly so) so why with so many original features and buildings, hasn’t Southampton done it ?
