✨Newborn sleep tips as a mom of 3✨ This is what i’ve learned and what has worked for me. However, remember all babies are different and what helps with 1 baby might not work with the other! 🍼 Frequent daytime feeds Feed every 2-3 hours during the day, helping baby get more calories in during the day so they don’t as much at night. (This is once they are back to birth weight). Also, aim for full feeds during the day, not just small snacking. ☀️Expose baby to daylight Open curtains, go for walks, and keep daytime feeds bright to help establish day vs. night. 😴 Watch wake windows I definitely do not watch them strictly, but I do my best to try and not let my baby become overtired being awake way too long. 🤍 Swaddle A snug swaddle can help reduce the startle reflex and encourage longer stretches of sleep. 🔊 Use white noise It mimics the sounds babies heard in the womb and can help create a calming sleep environment. 🌙 Keep nighttime boring Dim lights and minimal talking during night times feeds and quick diaper changes help baby learn that nighttime is for sleeping. 💤 Contact naps are normal You aren’t creating bad habits. Many newborns need closeness and comfort during the fourth trimester. 🌙 Create a calming bedtime routine A simple routine like a diaper change, pajamas, feeding, and cuddles can help your baby recognize that bedtime is approaching. ✨These are the simple things that helped us during those first few weeks. Save this for later and send it to an expecting mama who needs the reminder that frequent wake-ups are completely normal. ✨ #newborn #newborntips #newbornsleep #newbornmom #babysleeptips
