@moneycoachdiamond: I think people assume I’m doing something super complicated. I’m not. 1) Max out the Roth IRA. 2) Invest the rest in my brokerage account. Buy assets. Mind my business. Repeat for 7 years. That’s literally the plan. #moneytok #fyp #investing #workoptional
I just opened my brokerage account with Fidelity in May

is a brokerage account...like a HIGH YIELD SAVINGS... Do either of these have penalties or some sort of fee? If I wanna take out the money or am I stuck? What the money in the account for a specific amount of time...🤔🤔

I'm 34 and going full tilt on brokerage right now so I can be work optional by 40. And the 401K and IRA will just keep growing while I live on the brokerage.

you have to use all investment accounts. brokerages, 401k, Traditional and Roth IRAs, HYSA, and an HSA if you qualify

Use index funds as the core to your Brokerage account and buy small amounts of stocks as speculative investments. Contribute what you can, but $400/mo is key 😁

thank you so much for this! I currently have a brokerage account for my daughter with Fidelity and I also have an IRA with Fidelity for myself. I want to start a brokerage account and be work optional at 40 like you, but I’m wondering what that entails? At 40 will i be able to pull from it? Do i have to keep investing in it at 40 in order to continue being work optional in the future? What does work optional look like to you? TIA!
Is your Roth IRA and brokerage account both with fidelity?

If you're self employed, you can have a SEP, solo 401k, SIMPLE. Theres a few options. I have a SEP. I can max my ROTH and then put 15-18k into my SEP. Brokerage is great to have pre-retirement age funds too.

What’s your strategy for finding your Roth IRA, do you just fund it at the beginning of the year or do you fund it throughout the year?

Can anyone answer me this question? Do I have to pay taxes on a brokerage account even if I don’t take money out of it?
