this analogy falls apart due to the fact that the fisherman is 1 injury away from his family being in total ruin. where as the american gave him a format and the pathway to generational wealth so his childrens children and beyond dont have to worry.

Again this reminds me of the famous Bob Marley line and my favorite saying of all time: “some people think they’re so rich but all they have is money.”

Perhaps the illusion of progress is quietly distracting us from what actually matters…
The Mexican fisherman was already living the rich, simple life the banker spent years chasing. Wasn’t he? 💛

People, dont overthink. The moral is easy: you can work and enjoy life at the same time.

Born and raised Mexican here, he’s not wrong we don’t need much to make a living down here, we pretty much grow most of what we consume and our daily lives aren’t that expensive but, some of us still want a bigger piece of the pie, guess the trick is to learn how to balance it all out.

America sold the “dream” to its people. Meanwhile inflation makes the million you saved in 30 years barely enough when you retire.

Love it. But very idealistic, no? We all want the chill life, but life throws curve balls you need to be prepared for. That saying “choose your hard” comes to mind. It’s hard to sacrifice everything you enjoy to establish security for you and your family. But it’s also hard to live a simple life with the constant worry of not having a safety net. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle and that I think should be the way. For some people , acquiring wealth becomes an addiction and no amount is ever enough. Kevin from shark tank pops into mind for some reason 😅

If you have your health and wake up in the morning with no anxiety about the day ahead, if the ones you love, love you back and if you properly belly laugh at least twice a day then your probably better off than most billionaires 😁
