With all the recent celebrations surrounding the 250th anniversary of this nation, I can’t help but see the irony. We find ourselves living in a landscape that feels far too similar to the one our founders faced in the years leading up to 1776: government overreach, corruption, intimidation, silence, and a people being pushed to decide whether they will remain free or quietly submit. I encourage the American people to dedicate this time not just to celebration, but to education. Now is not the time for blind celebration. It is a time for reflection. It is a time for mourning. It is a time for grieving what this country has become, because America is hanging on by a lifeline. But we were not left defenseless. Our rights were not given to us by government, by kings, by courts, or even by the founders themselves. They are God-given rights, bestowed equally upon all creation. What the founders did was recognize those rights, declare them, and place documents and safeguards in motion to certify, preserve, and protect that understanding for generations to come. Those tools mean nothing if the people do not know them, use them, and defend them. Educate yourself. Know your rights. Know your Constitution. Know your local government. Know the mechanisms available to hold public servants accountable. Stay strong. Stay united. Stay committed. God bless America. And more importantly, God bless the people of the world. #WestmorelandCounty #NorthHuntingdon #NolanPatrickMullen #PipeDownEric #JusticeForAll #CivicLens24 #RightToRecord #FirstAmendment #ConstitutionalRights #GodGivenRights #1776
