@bioncasmith3: We were full. ALL Texas shelters are full. This is what it takes to still say yes to rescues in need! River was sick, abandoned, and almost out of time. Parasites were tearing down her body from the inside out. 😢 A husband stepped up and refused to look away. His wife called everywhere until @offthegridanimalsanctuary answered. We couldn’t take River in yet but we offered a plan: foster, and we cover everything. She said yes. 🙌 Because of that, River is alive now residing at the sanctuary… Vetted. Safe…And she’s WINNING the Battle most Strays Lose! This is what rescue looks like when people work together.🫶🏽❤️ Thank you, Dawn and Hubby! 🚨 Now River needs heartworm treatment and spay right away. If you’re watching Rivers story and can’t foster a rescue but can help with medical care, this is your moment.
