my 16yr ate my steak 1x.... I say 1x because when my husband found out, he drove back to the store, got me another steak & then came home a told my son hes now going to cook me the exact dinner he took outta my mouth, & cook it right. he stood over him, taught him what to cook & how to cook the items, & then had him serve me & apologize. he told him "do you see how much work went into 1 plate? now imagine doing that 3 more times? yeah, be respectful & use common sense... if everyone has eaten THEN you go for seconds, you aren't a wild hog." 🥰 my husband was raised by a strong woman.

No cuz I literally got on my son’s ass about this recently we had 3 cupcakes left over after graduation. I put them up for the next days because it’s me and my 2 children in the house. My son ate all 3 cupcakes in the night. He didn’t understand why I was mad because they are “just cupcakes” I said I’m not made you ate a cupcake. I’m mad you ate mine and your sisters cupcake too. You seen 3 and instead of thinking “one for everyone” you thought “all for Me” THAT IS THE PROBLEM

I once had a friend over for dinner and I had made like 15 potatoes, 8 minced meat patties and like 600 gr green beans. he ate all meat, left 2 potatoes and didn't even look at the veggies. he'll never eat at my place again. that food would last my 13 yo and I at least 3 days.

One time my brother threw away my cereal because he didn’t like it and wanted to eat the one he liked. So my mom only bought the cereal I liked and made my brother serve me like a waiter.

This behavior also leads the others in the house to hoard food or overeating since it creates this scarcity mindset that if I don’t eat it all now, someone will eat it later.

My son did this ONCE when he was 17. I made him go to the store, buy all the ingredients with HIS MONEY (he had a job) and then come home and cook it over and over until he made it the right way. He never did it again and he learned how to cook.

Mine tried to eat the entire new box of blackberries in one sitting. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. I realize it’s not an entire lasagna, but it was still outrageous. Since then, he’s chosen to live with his dad. I asked too many questions and kept boundaries.

Being able to eat an entire tray of lasagna is biblical level of greed to start with. I can barely finish two servings. I couldn’t imagine sitting down and clear an entire tray ALONE.

My brother did this once. The next day my mom only cooked enough for me and her and my dad. He walked in after practice asking “Where’s his food?” She said “you ate it…yesterday only thing you’re having for dinner is sleep.” 😂😂😂 He always asked after that.

I'll buy myself a treat and if I don't eat it within a day or two my son starts asking if he can have it. I always say no and tell him I don't have to eat my food on his timeline.

Parents need to monitor the eating behavior and correct that.No seconds until everyone has eaten. Then they can discuss leftovers if anybody wants

when i was in high school I spent a couple hours making pastry dough from scratch & making chicken curry filling to make a curry pie situation. Took it out to cool and went upstairs, came back and my brother (same age) had eaten the ENTIRE middle of the pie and left just the outside crust, I cried and was so upset. Mom told me I was being over dramatic and that it was “just food.” It was just food this time but that behavior translated in other areas as well and that selfishness hasn’t gone away. It’s been 10 years and I’ll never forget it
