I dont know who needs to see this: No matter how scary and dark the world can get, there are brighter days ahead waiting for you - even if it seems like it‘s impossible. I may not have fully found that light myself, but I‘m closer to it than ever before. So a little advice from someone who was also stuck and is trying to heal: Keep pushing and never look back. It‘s easier said than done, but you can‘t give up - Even if it feels like it‘s pointless, or you‘re holding on for no reason - Keep. Pushing. It‘s not pointless and neither are you holding on for no reason - it‘s simply not true. It‘s because of YOU and YOU alone. You‘re worth fighting for, because you deserve happiness. Here‘s some things that got me through, or rather, are still getting me through hard times: 1. Occupying yourself. Boredom is sadly the greatest time for haunting thoughts to popup, but keeping myself busy helps me ignore those thoughts - even if it‘s for just a second. It doesn‘t have to be something impressive or intense. It takes time to fine something but take your time - let it come to you. 2. Stop isolating yourself. It‘s normal for us to isolate ourselves whenever we feel sad - it‘s normal and it‘s what makes us human. Sadly, it doesn’t benefit us. Be next to other people. Even if you‘re not talking, even if you‘d love to run back to your room and so many other things (can‘t let this get any longer…). There‘s this term: Social Buffering. It states that we can benefit from being around other people, even if we don‘t necessarily interact with them - you don‘t have to talk, you don‘t have to look at them but just being in a shared space with other people can help your nervous system gradually recover. 3. Ventilation / Output. Our emotions affect us physically and mentally. It could be tightened muscles due to chronic stress, it could be fatigue and restlessness from constant sadness and it could be so many other things as well. Generally speaking: we experience or re-experience those emotions daily. Getting them out can also significantly help. It could be anything: Sports to release pent up emotions, mindful activities like journaling or writing to acknowledge and process (1)
