@bloombergoriginals: The next frontier of AI may not be on Earth. As SpaceX and other companies fuel a space boom, players around the world are racing to build data centers in orbit — betting the future of computing lies beyond our planet. #AI #Tech #business #Space #Data
“It’s a very real problem” we literally don’t need AI. It just showed up a year ago.

Things that need to be launched into space: Trillionaires.
Things that don't: Data centers

I don’t get why they also don’t build these data centers up vertical instead of taking up more land

Like what about deserts? I get that it’s an expensive route to take but I feel like it’s a good option and less expensive and scary than going to space

Now think of Nepal for this. We have great source of energy and the mountains are natural cooling system.

problem of sending AI farm to space could get these two problems
First one is most noticeable because sending things into space is expensive. So sending heavy computer into space might be equal as using them on earth
Second one is that large solar panels( they said 2-4Km wide) is basically astroid catcher and would be difficult to maintain with all the space junk currently in the space.
(my own opinion tho)

And how exactly are they planning to cool those chips down? Solar panels to supply an energy hungry device? Yeah, right...
