It’s unlearning the ones that are slowly burning you out. A year ago, I genuinely thought successful people worked all the time. I thought they got up earlier, slept less, drank more coffee, said yes to every opportunity, and squeezed productivity out of every spare second of the day. I thought that’s what it took. When I was working warehouse shifts, I was exhausted. I’d spend my days counting down to the weekend and convincing myself that if I just worked harder, pushed more, or stayed busier, eventually my life would change. Then I started my business and realised I was carrying that exact same mindset into something I actually loved. I felt guilty resting. I felt guilty switching off. I felt guilty doing anything that wasn’t moving me forwards. But the reality is, some of the biggest breakthroughs I’ve had over the last year haven’t come from doing more. They’ve come from slowing down enough to think clearly, make better decisions, protect my energy, and actually enjoy the life I was working so hard to create. Building a business that’s generated over £400,000 in sales hasn’t taught me how to work every hour under the sun. It’s taught me that burnout isn’t a badge of honour.
