Thank you. I needed to see this today. I am on a trip with my 2 kids and my toddler is testing me at every turn. I finally took a minute to look at the situation and realize I have been over scheduling and rushing since we got here. So this is my sign to leave tomorrow open and try to go with the flow and let him enjoy himself 🥰

💯 I heard Conan once say that our job as parents is to help them grow up slow. Don’t rush it, let them have their childhood without pressure, expectation or real world stress. That one stuck.

two things can be true - absolutely let's let them enjoy their childhood without rushing, but also let's examine why adulthood isn't equally fun? is there a way we can make adulthood fun too by the time our kids get there?

the other day it rained like this and my first reaction after a long day from work and juat getting home was to get inside asap but I paused for a second watching my kid run around with pure joy on his face. I put the bags inside and went running outside with him. hes too young to remember it but i will remember it til the day I d13.
