Even outside of influencing, working in an accounting department for years doing payables and receivables, EVERYONE pays late its more rare that people pay on time. Its so annoying but its weirdly so common no matter the industry even with signed contracts saying 30/60 days etc.

Agency side here. Brands have the money they contract for but it’s just a slowwww and involved process for $ to change hands. Net 60 is realistic. A lot of influencers want Net 30 and it’s just not going to happen.

Influencers need a system where if they want to work with you, they put the money into an escrow account and once the terms are met, you get the money released to your account. It’s huge amounts of money sometimes. Just as much as some ppl pay for home.

This is why I like to do a 50/50 payment. 50% after draft is sent or upon signing contract. And 50% after posting. It’s a protection for both sides. Like you have to pay a deposit or full price even when getting a personalized product, or getting a service done. Why isn’t it same custom for content creators? Makes no sense to me.
