A quick and easy American-Italian style shrimp pasta cooked in one pot, free of onions and peppers, perfect for a fast family meal. Ingredients: - 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined - 12 ounces (340g) pasta (penne or fusilli) - 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes - 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream or coconut cream for dairy-free - 2 tablespoons olive oil - 1 teaspoon dried basil - 1 teaspoon dried oregano - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) - Salt and pepper to taste - Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional) Instructions: 1. Heat olive oil in a large one-pot over medium heat. 2. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside. 3. In the same pot, add crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, dried basil, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer. 5. Add the uncooked pasta to the sauce. Stir to coat the pasta in the sauce. 6. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes. 7.
