as a nail tech, its a luxury. you will not die if you dont get them done. i can understand basic nailcare such as clipping them, protecting the skin around it, etc, because are many health indicators with your nails, but making them red will never not be a luxury

Just because it’s considered a smaller expense than most luxuries doesn’t make it not a luxury. Iced coffee from a cafe is still a luxury even if it’s only $5 because it’s not a necessity. Little luxuries are a thing.

Almost everything we have and do for pleasure is a luxury. t v's cars cellphones video games computers, radios. are all luxuries, none of these are needed for our survival.

its not a luxury or necessity luxury is like home food car necessity is like knowledge and then theres want which is nails so if u make it something they dont want cuz of price u hurting ur own business and thats because when they teach u how to be ur own boss they gatekeep being competitive so u wont win they tell u upcharge as if ur the only one no ur supposed to beat ur competitions price and take their customers

Getting your hair professionally done, nails done, lashes done, is 100% a luxury. It’s money that doesn’t NEED to be spent to survive. It’s not basic hygiene.

I am a nail tech and I am SUPER aware that my services are a luxury. The only caveat to that is diabetic pedicures and geriatric pedicures. This is why I appreciate my clients so much.

I would say, It didn’t used to be. When you could get a manicure for like $15. Now? Absolutely a luxury. Getting your nails done biweekly these days is damn near a car note
