This is why journaling is so important to me. When I reminisce on these moments, it’s hardly ever the moment itself that I am missing, but everything about the moment. How it felt, the small details you remember, the details you don’t remember, how it fit in the context of its time period, and more. That’s what I’m really missing. More often than not I wouldn’t step back into those moments if given the chance. Which lets me know that I’m not totally interested in the moment itself, but the act of remembering everything about it.

Summer🌊 :
When me and my ex broke up, we gave each other a whole month to prepare on finally not seeing each other anymore. We lived together for 3 years and we wanted 1 month still to slowly leave each other, enough time for each of us to find a new home. We would still watch movies together, laugh together, eat together like friends. We were each other’s best friends for 3 years. Everytime we still hang out in that 1 month closure stage, we would laugh and then lightly smile before finally frowning and him saying “I’m going to miss you so much!” And I said “Yea we’re going to miss this.”
