It should be illegal for creditors to lower your credit score for paying off a loan in full with no late payments. It’s a deliberately predatory practice designed to keep everyone in the cycle

My bank kept my credit limit super low for several years despite amazing credit. I got a mortgage and my credit score dropped 30 points, and then they doubled my credit card limit.

It sounds dumb- but then technically isn't the best thing for your credit is to get a bunch of low loans (optimistically keeping interest to a few cents a month) and paying minimal amounts to keep it perpetually? Where would someone go to do that?
