Being a hopeless romantic but asexual has been the most confusing thing in my life. These videos have been fantastic. Sensual attraction was news to me, which was delightful to learn about.

Pretty sure I'm demi-romantic. I only feel romantic attraction after I've been friends with someone for a long time.

Thanks so much for your insight! There isn’t a lot of i formation out there about asexuality so this really helps a lot. I personally identify as cupiosexual. Which is that i don’t have any sexual attraction but i still crave a connection with someone. (Either romantically or sexually. For me it’s romantically.)

I'm aroace, but I do have really interesting definitions of what I think romance is. Like I always imagine it as what the air smells like in spring when the flowers bloom or an old well-loved journal with ink stains. Or owning a book second-hand. It never really has anything to do with people.

I was confused for so long because I'm but it's because panromantic and deeply desire an emotional bond and intimacy without sex. to me a kiss and a cuddle is an emotional connection

I commented on your last video. I also happen to be aromantic. I do experience sensual and aesthetic attraction, but I’ve only had (as close to romantic as I can get) feelings for 2 maybe 3 people in my 29 years. But to me, it’s not really romance. It’s a desire to be close to someone and spend time with someone like you would a close friend, a roommate, or a member of your immediate family. I don’t really care about being wooed or wined and dined. I don’t really expect flowers or expect much for anniversaries outside of acknowledging the day exists. I just think they’re neat and want to be close to them. I also mentioned having a high libido despite next to zero sexual attraction, and to me that “romantic” partner is someone I can tolerate that level of intimacy with.

I'm probably Ficto and Aego when delving into microlabels. Because even fictional characters, it is not me with them. (And the Aego is only fiction) I tend to just describe myself as Asexual because generally easier and I feel the label fits me better, because Asexuality is a spectrum

Im aego asexual! I do not feel sexual attraction or any particular desire to participate in sexual acts (although im not sex-repulsed either), but I can feel arousal. I don't feel anything from irl porn, but very spesific types of erotica can trigger arousal, but ONLY if im imagining it happen to someone other than me. I haven't fully figured out if im aego aromantic as well yet, or if Im just too avoidant to have experienced a crush or romance. I love the idea of queer romance, but I don't know if im capable of participating in it. (I have zero interest in the opposite sex irl)

could you please also do a video about how platonic attraction feels? I've felt it twice in my life but sometimes I doubt if I'm aro because what if those times were romantic attraction and not platonic? the way I differentiate is if I would want to do romantic act with that person: hand holding, being in a relationship, which is a no for me. platonic attraction, the few times I've felt it, feels like a warmth or tingle in chest whenever I see that person and I just get really happy in general when I see them

its interesting how i seem close to aroace on a technical level but also experiencing other types of attractions and enjoyment of both types of relationships makes me closer to allo presenting in terms of relationships (certainly not with a normative experience though😂). i sometimes dont lead with the fact im on either spectrum because i can still be attracted in a different way and telling them im ace/arospec might make them think i wouldn't have interest. instead am just upfront with what i feel or want with them specifically

Oh gosh, yeah. I KNOW I'm not aromantic. But... I'm a writer and I really struggle a lot with myself AND my characters wondering "Okay, I know I love you differently than a friend, but what exactly differs between our relationship and a friendship". Like... It's so hard to actually describe romantic attraction in a way that gives at least vague lines to differentiate it from other forms. (Heck, in one fanfiction - not original work here - I even made a character research it, while doing the research myself and both the character and I found the internet to not be helpful AT ALL. They then just went with "Well,... Who cares about labels, we'll just do whatever feels good for both of us and don't have to give our form of relationship a name", but... I mean, can't ALWAYS go that route. 😂)
