@actor_cliff_hannold: On June 13, 2026, an F/A-18 Hornet assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 11 of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (based out of MCAS Miramar in San Diego) crashed during a routine training flight approximately 55 miles southeast of Seattle, near Rimrock Lake and Mount Rainier. Witnesses reported hearing a popping noise and seeing smoke before the pilot successfully ejected, suffering only minor injuries before being recovered by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and transported to a local hospital. The crash occurred along a well-known low-altitude military training route and triggered a wildfire in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest that grew to roughly 15 acres, forcing local fire crews and the U.S. Forest Service to evacuate nearby campgrounds and deploy helicopters to suppress the flames. The incident is classified by the Marine Corps as a non-fatal aviation mishap, and the official cause remains under investigation. #trending #fyp #viral #foryou #foryoupage
