Add your kids as authorized users as teenagers. My parents did it for me and I graduated high school with an 800 credit score!

Open that credit card and keep it active, don’t let it close out because you’ll loose your credit history. They want you to have multiple lines of credit to show diversity so a few cards is better than 1. The higher the limit the better if you have self discipline because you shouldn’t use more than 30% of the limit, ideally 10% and under. Credit usage percentage will dock you pretty hard. Credit karma has helped me stay on top of it.
