The only time to use that is when your chlorine levels disappear quickly. I was told that you would only ever need to use this once a season but never more than twice. Over 15 years, only ever needed to use it once a season.

Yeah that’s unique. Usually when you have a new fill you just add conditioner and proper chems. And if you need the cya to be raised, you should have just been able to tell them your gallons and you could have put the amount of scoops you needed.

Definetely need it at 30 …. But over 100– partial drain and refill is a must. Stay away from chlorine tablets — they contain stabilizer in them.

As long as it’s balanced. Too little and the chlorine gets sucked out by the sun and too much means you need more chlorine to do the same amount of sanitation.
