I have a loved one in prison who’s trying hard to change but has a hard time doing it alone in there. He’s always talking about how he learns so much about himself from these programs. You guys treat them like humans and they don’t get a lot of that in prison. As a sister to an inmate who’s only seen as a number. Thank you.

I had the privilege of traveling to a correctional facility to take a class alongside prisoners for an entire semester. It was extremely eye opening and rewarding to be a part of. We brought pizza, soda, and ice cream for the whole class on the last day of class. I’m also happy to say that a lot of those who were incarcerated did not get to finish the class with us because they got out on parole during it! :)

i work with the kids who are in a facility and i remind myself at the end of the day they are just kids who were handed different cards and maybe some won’t make it out the system but there still someone’s baby, there still kids and they deserve to have someone be there for and show them things can change

A terrifying video has been released from Ukraine showing a fruit seller being chase around hisĀ vanĀ by a Russian droneĀ in what the Ukrainian president has said it yet another example of its soldiers taking ā€œpleasure in killing and abusing civiliansā€. ā€œThe Russians even admitted to the crime, showing zero regret and openly boasting about tormenting people,ā€ Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on XĀ after sharing footage of the incident. The victim of the attack, a Kherson greengrocer called Yuri, was setting up his stall at 6.30am at a farmer’s market inĀ TsentralnyiĀ when he heard the droneĀ whirringĀ overhead. Footage then shows the 52-year-old trying to evade the drone, which circles his stand, and appears to chase him beforeĀ detonating. ā€œI had no phone, nothing, just garlic cloves,ā€ Yuri, who suffered multiple shrapnel wounds across his limbs and upper bodyĀ said. ā€IĀ wasĀ cleaningĀ garlic.ā€ Yuri said he looked up at the drone making a praying gesture toĀ indicateĀ he was not a threat, while telling his wife to ā€œrunā€. ā€œThere was about 200m to a shelter; some athletes could make it bit it was impossible for me,ā€ he explained, saying that his van had already been destroyed in another drone strike. ā€œThere are no words.Ā Maybe itsĀ battery isĀ dyingĀ and it started chasing me just to kill anyone – I'mĀ not a military target.ā€ After the blast, Yui is seen sitting down, blood soaking his clothing. President Zelenskyy said that many people were ā€œshockedā€ by the video, but it was not a one-off, rather part of a drone ā€œsafariā€ being carried out against civiliansĀ inĀ Kherson. ā€œThe world must see this,ā€ he wrote on X. ā€œIt must see every piece of evidence that Russia has gone mad and that its soldiers take pleasure in killing and abusing civilians. ā€œWithout pressure on Russia, the dismantling of its capacity for aggression, and real security guarantees, it is simply impossible to imagine the world being able to coexist with this evil. ā€œWe must remain resolute in defending life. We must act and support life in ways that force Russia to seriously think about peace rather than expanding the range of its drones. This is not just about Ukraine. Russia’s campaign against human life must be stopped here in Ukraine before it spreads further.
