But why are we judging other people? I grew up with the opposite of gentle parenting and now as an adult, I struggle. I was never taught how to regulate my emotions, only YELLED at. Maybe that dad went through the same and is trying to break the generational trauma. Let’s stop judging people.

working in a restaurant i see some crazy gentle parenting, they can be screaming and throwing food at other tables or standing on the chairs and they are like “ awww timothy we don’t do that here, let’s sit down please honey” 😅😅

The GENTLE GENTLE parents are crazy. Growing up my mom told us once and THEN we got the belt. Occasionally a bamboo stick if we were really bad. In my eyes I feel like we gently parent our daughter only because we don’t hit or yell. We redirect and correct bad behavior. No spanking, no yelling, no screaming, and no degrading. That in MY eyes is gentle parenting compared to what I grew up with.

I am a preschool teacher and I don't gentle parent... kids need structure they need to learn consequences and that's not saying "yell at your kid and make him feel like shit" it's validating the emotions working through the emotions and establish said boundary " now that you are calm let's try and share if you don't want to share I can hold onto the car for you but we are not going to yell at friends younger than us they are still learning too"
