@samaravslife: The research has been saying that specialising in one thing is dangerous for ages ‼️ and the people best positioned to make the discoveries and change everything (us) are the ones moving multiple fields #polymath #multipotentialite #identity #psychology

Ability to context switch macro to micro to macro etc is so valuable. I think it’s innate to humans but drummed out of us by the academic system which blinkers its participants by design. The irony!

It's so easy, it's just systems, it's all domino's, every small thing or action influences everything, if you are not able to see outside one field, you won't be able te see the consequences for the whole system, it's as simple as 1+1=2

This has happened to me, not a mathematician but seem to have found a unique mathematical framework that will contribute to number theory and do some interesting things withing graphics and physics.

I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing that you’re probably one of the very few people on Earth who would understand me.

thank you! I've often blurted things out in lectures and was just stared at like I said something nonsensical, and I felt so stupid. 🫣

Then again: Sometimes one can only see and solve certain problems as a specialist. 😅

its the telling that is just as important as the insight. early in my professional career I was, an an engineer, trained in Sales (a very wise mgmt move by a good boss). This ability to understand frameworks like SPIN helped me explain and align insights better. It also made me a better listener which helped me understand the Need, Want, Wish heirarchy. Net-net, you have to curate the business side of you as much as the research side. The world has a business mind, not a research mind. Ignoring this is like trying the merge gears at different speeds.
