Let’s be honest: Pokémon has been getting away with doing the bare minimum for years because it’s Pokémon. Fans kept buying the games no matter what. Now games like Palworld and other monster-catching games are showing that competition exists. That’s a good thing. Maybe now Nintendo and Game Freak will finally feel pressured to put more effort, polish, and innovation into Pokémon again. Competition is healthy. Pokémon shouldn’t rely only on nostalgia and its name.
