What people don’t understand is a majority of jobs are posted with someone already in mind. Companies are just posting for compliance and legal liability purposes to show they opened the role to everyone. In reality, there’s already someone internal or a referral that basically has it in the bag. 🤷♀️just the reality, and that’s why networking is so important.

I don’t understand the alternative. If the job description says they want X and that is not on your resume, then how would you expect to make the cut? Please clarify. Thx!

I’ve had multiple hr/hiring managers tell me that resumes will be auto rejected if they don’t have specific keywords they are looking for. They need to be tailored or you won’t ever have a human look at your resume.

A company scheduled my final interview and took my first availability and then emailed me later that day that it was filled… this was after a big project, great feedback and a convo from the recruiter about what to expect.

I spoke to my recruiter about this a few days ago. He said for some other job reqs he'll get 700 apps and 400 will match or look basically the same.

I have one main resume and a few others I’ll use sometimes. I’m very targeted with what I apply to. I’m not getting about 20 percent response rate for interviews. There’s no reason to update your resumes for every job!!
