@jacksbirdsanctuary: 🚨 NEW SPECIES ALERT! 🚨 Today we welcomed a new visitor to the sanctuary — a female Downy Woodpecker! 🐦🪵 She stopped by the suet feeder and gave us a great look at one of North America’s smallest woodpeckers. Female Downy Woodpeckers can be identified by their black-and-white pattern and the absence of the red patch found on males. We’re excited to add another species to our growing bird list.
