That truck is custom built with a 454 Chevy motor and automatic transmission. That shifter is no different than the one in most cars other than it’s orientation

hate to break it to you but all vehicle need a shifter. you can't go from park to drive or reverse without some form of shifter. as well as there's hand clutches in some models of vehicles. like a modern f1 race car or some classic semis and Utility Tractors.
