@urdailydoseofinternet28: The Geometry of Material Innovation 🤯. When a consumer hardware division iterates on flexible display architecture, the engineering challenge shifts from basic panel durability to structural crease elimination. Overcoming longstanding mechanical limitations in foldable design completely changes the premium device landscape. By redesigning the internal hinge mechanism and optimizing the structural screen layers, hardware teams can deliver a seamless, high-velocity folding interface that avoids the persistent physical compromises that plagued early-generation form factors for nearly a decade. Amateurs evaluate smartphone hardware strictly through iterative software features or minor camera updates, completely blind to the foundational material engineering required to redefine device form factors. They treat complex mechanical hinges like standard, static components. Elite operators understand that structural innovation is the ultimate brand differentiator. Solving a major physical friction point that legacy competitors left unaddressed for generations establishes absolute technical credibility and resets user expectations for the entire vertical. Stop designing mobile software pipelines under the assumption that hardware forms have permanently stagnated around rigid, unyielding glass slabs. If your product roadmap or application Ul design is unprepared to dynamically adapt to zero-crease, continuous flexible screens, your platform is missing an inevitable hardware shift. Align your development parameters with fluid, multi-state screen orientations, maximize your interface responsiveness, and secure your positioning before flexible form factors entirely capture the premium market. I feel like foldable phones will live next to 3D and curved TV's, VisionPro, Meta universe. Neat, but more a marketing trick than anything else.

I have been using the fold 7 for almost a year now and I legit dont even see the crease 😩 such a non-issue with technology i guarantee that the fold has way more power than that other phone but they gonna focus on the crease that doesnt matter

atp I just want more brands to do what Nothing does, or what old OnePlus did, make a flagship feeling device for 1/2 the price. I don't need a thousand dollar phone if all I do is text, call, and browse.

Ive had my fold for almost a year now; it was obvious that it was designed for the backlighting to do most of the heavy work in hiding that seam, and i think they did a good job. I dont even notice the seam when watching a movie 🤷♀️
