Valid. DBD requires hundred of hours just to understand basic game mechanics. You basically have to be insanely stubborn and OK with losing so many games in a row to learn the game. It's just not beginner friendly at all. Not to mention how horrible the matchmaking/MMR system is.

Yes a large chunk of the community is toxic to this level but there’s also a lot of us who don’t care and just play with friends to have fun. The “social rules” are created by players who think their opinions are the only ones that matter. Most of the people I know personally who play dbd don’t care for the social rules. Ignoring them is the only way to enjoy the game anymore. I also feel confident saying this with having 7K hours across multiple platforms

as someone who has over a 1000 hours, don't do it, it's not worth it, get out while you still can. it's only fun if you have a full team and you all understand that you're playing for fun and not to win

Dbd is one of those games where you need someone who is experienced with the game to guide you through the learning curve. I did that with my best friend and now we just play on auto pilot while catching up

I almost started playing again then I watched a friend stream it and decided I'm never going back. The social pressure to follow made up rules is intense and designed only for experienced players but applied to everyone

I am a huge dbd player and play it everyday with 5.7k hrs. I do not abide by the made up rules the community has. Yes they're toxic but a lot of players aren't and are just there to have fun.

tried it once years ago, wasn't scared, wasn't tense, and it wasn't fun. playing as the monster was just meh. tried it few years later as a different friend wanted someone to play it with, I thought "well it been a while, om pretty different from who I was back then, maybe I'll like it" nope. same issues but with confusion added on top

started on day one with over 100s of friends in the first year and now no one i know is even willing to redownload the game again because it’s either boring or because it’s a horror game with no horror elements left in it. it isn’t the same game it used to be or what the devs had envisioned and hyped up in 2016-2020
