I watched a 5 mile stretch of “highway” similar to say M59, get done OVERNIGHT in NC this spring, Tell me why 2 miles of Novi rd is on like year 4? Or why the 50’ stretch of 8 mile/Novi has been a 3 year ordeal? They probably had 20-30 guys on the project in NC and knocked it out, 1 night!

Britt, as a Michigander moving to Detroit next month how do we advocate for this? Every other big city has some sort of metro that allows connection from the suburbs to the city. Do you think Michigan will ever get on board with this sort of system?

At the end of the day this has nothing to do with public transportation. This has everything to do with the government’s inability to effectively plan construction projects. Nowhere else in the country are highways shut down for YEARS at a time.

No because this is what I keep saying as a big time car guy, the less people on the roads the less cars on the roads , idk why people are so against this? Stop wasting time and money on bike lanes we can’t use 70% of the year going nowhere and built light rail!

I lived in London for some years. One of the biggest shocks for me, coming from Detroit, was not only the amount of people who use public trans but the lack of negative stigma attached.

I WANT PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!!! I have to drive for work, I haul a lot of equipment, but if I could commute in my spare time without driving I'd actually go out a lot more. But the parking struggle is always a consideration when i think about going out.
