I’m 17 and just started tbh (Batman year one, The court of owls saga, Long Halloween and Nightwing leaping into the light) not really an age thing I guess, maybe you just got tired of it, the magic went away after sometime

I gave it up after high school; figured I better “grow up” only to come back to it several years later as a “grown up”. I do regret stopping everything all at once; wish I kept collecting one or two books.
