Replying to @Kenny g love #CapCut José Ramón Gil Samaniego born on February 6, 1899 – October 30, 1968, known professionally as Ramon Novarro, was a Mexican-American actor. He began his career in silent films in 1917 and eventually became a leading man and one of the top box-office attractions of the 1920s and early 1930s. Novarro was promoted by MGM as a "Latin lover" and became known as a sex symbol after the death of Rudolph Valentino. He is recognized as the first Latin American actor to succeed in Hollywood. Across to Singapore is a 1928 American silent romantic drama film alongside Joan Crawford Career: Novarro began his film career in 1917, playing bit parts, supplementing his income by working as a singing waiter, a taxi dancer and as a dancer. Novarro achieved his greatest success in 1925, in Ben-Hur. He made his first talking film, starring as a singing French soldier, in Devil-May-Care (1929). About his sexuality Novarro was troubled all his life by his conflicted feelings toward his Roman Catholic religion and his homosexuality. His life-long struggle with alcoholism is often traced to these problems. Death; Novarro was murdered on October 30, 1968, by brothers Paul and Tom Ferguson, aged 22 and 17, who called him and offered their sexual services. In the past, he had hired prostitutes from an agency to come to his home for sex. The Fergusons obtained Novarro's telephone number from a previous guest. What happened the two young men believed that a large sum of money was hidden in Novarro's house. The prosecution accused the brothers of torturing Novarro for several hours to force him to reveal where the (non-existent) money was hidden. They left the house with $20. Novarro died as a result of asphyxiation, having choked to death on his own blood after being beaten. He was 69. 🥀Joan Crawford 🥀 born Lucille Fay LeSueur; born on March 23, 1908 – May 10, 1977 was an American actress. She started her career as a dancer in traveling theatrical companies before debuting on Broadway. About ber birth year - Crawford's year of birth is uncertain, as various sources claim 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1908.Crawford herself widely claimed 1908 (the date on her tombstone). Her daughter Christina states "1904" twice in the biography Mommie Dearest, published in 1978. By the 1930s, Crawford's fame rivaled MGM colleagues were Norma Shearer and Greta Garbo. Crawford often played hardworking young women who find romance and financial success. These "rags-to-riches" stories were well received by Depression-era audiences and were popular with women. Her roles: She became one of Hollywood's most prominent movie stars and one of the highest paid women in the United States, but her films began losing money. By the end of the 1930s, she was labeled "box office poison". After an absence of nearly two years from the screen, Crawford staged a comeback by starring in Mildred Pierce (1945), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 1955, she became involved with the Pepsi-Cola Company, through her marriage to company president Alfred Steele. Following a public appearance in 1974, after which unflattering photographs were published, Crawford withdrew from public life. She became more and more reclusive until her death in 1977. Crawford's mother was likely under 20 when her first two children were born. Crawford had one sister, Daisy, and one brother, Hal LeSueur. Crawford had a heart attack on May 10, 1977, and died in her apartment. Her age was reported as 69. Her Will: She explicitly disinherited the two eldest, Christina and Christopher: According tobher, "It is my intention to make no provision herein for my son, Christopher, or my daughter, Christina, for reasons which are well known to them." Both of them challenged the will and received a $55,000 settlement. #joancrawford #ramonnavarro #acrosssignapore #famousdeaths🥀 #famousdeathstoday #mgm
