i dont like ai but i genuinely believe that most coding jobs are cooked, its most likely only getting better from here and the only jobs that might stay are bug fixers

Coding is also like 5-10% of all IT work lol let me see AI unbox 50 switches and routers and cable them properly and configure them to build an enterprise network from the ground up. Cloud and network engineering is the most slept on area of IT IMO, there’s a perfect mix of manual labor + white collar that AI can’t do a whole lot for you outside of recommend what to do.

in like 8 months you will be able to run very good local modles that are 10x better than 90% of coders from the year 2024 and below, and when agi is invented, then its a complely diffrent story

All the copium about ai not replacing all jobs is silly ,end point of ai is to rventually replace all jobs ,the question is just how fast will it be 5 or 50 years? ai already increased productivity of developers massievly allowing them to do more in shirter ammount of time this on itself already started to lead to reduction in jobs in tech sure ai is flawed yada yada yada still most people use it becasue they can do more with it we are fsr away from ai being able to operste on its own but we dont need ai to do that for mass job cuts

Generally not a false statement, not to say an LLM will do it all (😭🙏) but it's kinda inevitable, just not as soon as the corpos say. And please, don't type out a diss on me again- 7 languages, 3 mini-projects in the past week (AUR security auditor, Español practice TUI, my own Hyprland dots and fish shell functions)

It’s eventually gonna get to the point coding is gonna get optimized by ai not right now as it’s still in the early stages like when ai first came out it wasn’t optimized really to handle math now it can pass the worlds hardest math exam if it’s a job that can be handled remotely it’s probably wraps at some point
