Agreed .. the serger finish is very clean. Also for the shirt bottom hem - if you fold it twice I think it would look better. Love your sewing journey, watched couple of videos so far

I’ve never used a serger. I started with zigzag stitches and found all the old school methods of furnishing a seam: french, hong kong, bias tape, bias binding,lace hem tape, etc. looks way cleaner than a serger.
