@delloliod: Today I had the honor of attending the Final Call and memorial service for K-9 Tigo of the Friendswood Police Department. Tigo was nearly 10 years old and still in service when a fatal tumor was discovered. His End of Watch was June 9, 2026. What I witnessed today was not “just” a service for a dog. It was a service for an officer, a partner, a protector, and a beloved family member. K-9s live with their handlers, train with them, risk their lives beside them, and become part of their family. Tigo served alongside Sgt. Granillo since 2019, and their bond was built through years of trust, loyalty, training, and service. From the handmade casket, to the officers standing guard, to Taps playing as Tigo was escorted to the crematory — every part of this memorial showed the deep respect this department, the veterinary team, and the community had for him.
