thank you, I was always so scared I wouldn't be enough for this field but I was also too determined to give up what I loved. I'll be starting my first semester in a few weeks, I'm excited and scared at the same time. I want to be ready for this

I'm actually doubting my choice to choose psychology because of my parents and aunts opinions. How psychology would help me get a immediate job after college. I want to prove them wrong but apart of me started to doubt that the course I truly dreamed of studying would be worth it. I don't even know where to begin or to start, where the future leads, do I need license after graduating psych, where shouldI start applying? Would I truly not regret it?
Maybe I should just become a nurse because its 'easier' to get a job. I really need a ate or kuya to tell me, what should I really do? I really want to study psychology, I always have a passion to understand people around me, to go more in depth about society, why people act the way they're,...etc.
Free to leave comments, I would read it. Please be honest, even leaving tips would be helpful.
(I'm still a grade 12 HUMSS student and im truly am struggling right now.)

I badly need advices/opinions po. I’m still a grade 9 student, and I’m not really interested pagdating sa madaming bagay. It’s so rare for me to be interested on something, and I’m really shocked because I’m really into Pyschology. I like helping people — especially with their emotions and feelings. I like to find the source of their emotions. Overall, I like to understand people and myself as well. I’m really dedicated to study Psychology. But here’s the thing, my family is struggling financially. I’m debating on whether I should be a nurse or a psychologist, since I can have easy access to jobs if I become a nurse. But I really want to study Psychology. Please help me, I don’t know what to do 🥹🤞🏻

add ko lang rin🌺 you'll also realize just how bad the system is and trying to change people's view towards mental health, lalo na sa mga older generation and people with strong rooted beliefs. we can't exactly change them for good, but there's still hope in educating the people and breaking down stereotypes na hinders us from making even a small change. and that change, even if it's small, is okay.

Psych sophomore here, my advice for those planning to take psychology is that whenever you feel like giving up— just think why you choose this path to be your battlefield. Psychology program requires reading after reading, application of what you read, research over researches, being matured and understanding and most especially know that you cannot tolerate what's not tolerable like bad behavior— you may validate their feelings but never their actions. advance studying and enough rest. Prayers and make it a habit to be more active in every activity so that your mind will be used to functioning. build a strong bond with good people that will motivate you and avoid negative energy from those who will try to bring you down (believe me they're not worth it, you will encounter a lot of immature and manipulative people in this field). lastly, enjoy every struggles (yes enjoy the pain of studying until you realized you're doing it for growth) always be ready. good luck!!!

Thank you po. Planning to take a psych kasi, since I'm g-12 na. but actually, may doubt po ako. I don't know whether to choose practicality over passion. But honestly, I really want to take this course, I want to understand more abt human and etc. God bless!

hi ate, I'm now officially first year bs psych.

Thank you for this, Ate.
Deep down, I’ve always known that Psychology was the program meant for me. It is a program I hold close to my heart: the true crime documentaries I watch, vulnerable children and the marginalized groups that have been failed by our justice system that need their very own support system. As an incoming first-year BS Psychology student, I understand that this field will challenge my morals, values, and beliefs. However, I also remind myself why I chose this path in the first place —- to be a light for others and to become someone who believes in people’s capacity to grow and change.
At the same time, I recognize that I have my own flaws and shortcomings, and I know I won’t always be the best person. That’s why I’ve been mentally preparing myself for the people I may one day encounter and help through this profession.
Psychology has always been my puhon—a dream I’ve carried in my heart for a long time. And now that I’m finally taking my first steps toward it, I’m determined to keep learning, growing, and becoming someone worthy of the trust others may place in me.

ate, should i pursue psychology? i've always wanted to, i really am in love with it but a lot of people say na sa paghahanap daw ng trabaho mahihirapan. 😿 + i am clinically diagnosed with mental health problems myself— i am doubting if i'll be able to endure it mentally (i tend to get overwhelmed and drained easily na ngayon, but i don't want those to get in my way.) i do really want to help other people— especially children who struggle and need help. i am a grade 12 student na, kinakabahan ako jwuwjw. baka pharmacy ang kunin ko kung hindi. :(
