ik ima sound like a buzzkill, the first clip was before he had learned Soresu (form 3), so that's why he showed little defense, he was using ataru (form 4)

He was never originally a defensive duelist. He started with form 4 Ataru like his master Qui-Gon but only learned form 3 Soresu after his and anakin’s encounter with count dooku. So he’s great at both offence and defence

In phantom menace obi wan used Ataru style which is Qui-gon jinns style after this he switched to defensive sorosue style

Not to nerd out, but in episode one.. obi wan did not adapt his defensive style until episode 2. In episode one he used the same style as qui-gon a more aggressive style

Actually in episode 1 Kenobi was using form 4 Ataru which relies on agility and speed because that’s the form Qui Gon used but he realized it’s flaw was leaving the chest area vulnerable so he switched to form 3 soresu which relies heavily on defense
