@samantha_angelie: I’ve seen the comments- “don’t be out in Greenville after dark”. Well, I was. Every night that I was there actually, three in a row. Back in my hotel by 10:30, perfectly safe. Mind you I’m a small women, often walking and traveling alone. While I was actually there walking the streets I got the chance to chat with some locals. They all said the same thing- it’s great in the evening but gets a little rowdy after 11. Believe it or not, MOST places get sketchier the later the hour gets. That’s a rule of thumb for nearly every downtown and city. It’s not a reason to try and fear monger people out of the streets because the sun has set. This is the South. The evening is the best time temperature wise to venture out. There were plenty of people and even families out walking here until about 10, which is the same time I also found my way back to my safe place, away from late night in the streets. I vey firmly believe in being safe and trusting your gut. I also believe in listening to the locals. If they say off the streets before 11- I’m off the streets. I relocated to Greenville alone in February and I absolutely am a fan of downtown in the evening (I’m usually in bed by 10 so…) Glad you enjoyed it!

downtown is only the walkable area just a heads up to visitors. transportation is mostly non existent if your anywhere away. beautiful though here!
