The mother on Monday joined high-profile celebrity Paris Hilton on the steps of Provo’s historic courthouse to speak out against Provo Canyon School. Hilton went to Provo Canyon School in the 1990s and alleges that she was abused in the program, overmedicated and sexually assaulted when she was given pelvic exams that had no clear medical purpose. Even if they closed it, couldn’t they just open at a new location even with a new name? There has to be more serious guidelines and rules in order to help troubled teens and to keep them safe. Employees also have guidelines to follow so investigations need to be made constantly.
