This is a really interesting distinction, Liza! 🔥 I’ve been thinking about this exact thing lately. Prompt engineering is powerful, but once you start building systems (what you’re calling loop engineering), the results become 10x more consistent and powerful. The best “loops” I’ve built all started with much stronger initial prompts. The quality of the first prompt basically determines how good the entire loop performs. Have you found that better prompting makes the loops easier to build, or do you see them as completely separate skills?

Would you say it's basically two agents one that creates it in another one that evaluates it? Then you have a file that says this is the desired state. That file either AI updates or human update updates. Is this an acceptable definition of loop engineering? At what point is it not loop engineering and just loop operations, or loop system administration?
