@brockbeyer: Most accountants over complicate this. You don't need a course. You don't need to understand how Al works under the hood. You need a starting point and a system. Here's the exact process: 1/ Write the list. Take 20 minutes. Write down every routine, recurring task you do on a regular basis. Reconciliations. Journal entries. Variance commentary. Reports you pull every single month. Rate them by time cost - highest at the top. That list is your roadmap. Don't skip this step. 2/ Open Claude. Type one question. Start with the top item on your list. Go into chat and type: "How can I use Cowork and other features within Claude to automate [your task]?" That's it. That's your first prompt. 3/ Push back. Add context. Make it yours. Whatever Claude gives you - don't accept the first answer. Add the edge cases from your actual job. The one-off scenarios. The exceptions. Ask it to pressure test its own steps. Keep refining until it reflects how your work actually runs. Then ask it for the exact prompt to put into Cowork. 4/ Run it. Verify everything. Drop that prompt into Cowork and let it run. Then check every output. Al is a tool - not a replacement for your judgment. Trust but verify every single time. 5/ Rinse and repeat. Work down the list. One task at a time. Every task you automate is hours back in your week. Permanently. The hardest part isn't the Al. It's starting. Save this. Start with the list today. 👇 #cpa #accounting #ai #accountant #accountinglife

I would like to learn more about this but confidentiality is very important to me. Can you calm my concerns there?

I am struggling to apply AI usefully to my work, as a primarily tax accountant. I feel like I spend so much time providing context and inputs that it ends up taking just as long. However, when I do find a good use and apply it correctly, it is much faster than I am and also maintains accuracy

If I have to verify everything then I’m spending the same amount of time as if I would have just done it myself in the first place.

Exactly what I tell my teams to do as well. AI is an output multiplier, it is not a replacement for our judgement and knowledge of specific policy elections and methodologies.

there should be a podcast. I work in corporate accounting and a lot can be automated by just fixing the underlying data, procuring data integrity and then the ERP can do almost everything else.
