In the 1980s this place was so active with tours and workers. It’s so sad it is falling apart. It’s a historical landmark

There was a group restoring it piece by piece until some jerks came through and did so much damage they gave up.

I’ve been told that the restoring cost is so high the city said never mind and is basically now using it for SWAT and fire fighter training now (on the other side)

It’s been out of use for a very long time and I’m in my 70’s. My mom and my father in law used to work there.

there was nothing on that land then they built that building it's still there which means if they can build the entire thing in the first place they can restore 90% of what's there😂 it's missing some windows everything is still there it might be in crap condition but it's still there

As a child, I used to fish at the Old Brewery. I had a blast exploring the area. I hope some day, it is fixed up and the public can enjoy it.

In 1896 a German man, Leopold Schmidt, founded the brewing company. During the prohibition, operations halted but resumed after. In 1983, the family sold the company to G. Heileman Brewing Company. In 1999-2003, the brand was acquired by the Pabst Brewing Company who closed the site and has been siting vacant since. Technically, it is owned by the city of Tumwater. There was a board (they might still be active) who were debating what to do with the building but no one could agree. If you ever find yourself in Tumwater Washington, you should visit the falls nearby. It was originally owned by the Schmidt family as well and was gifted to the city of Tumwater.

the original Olympia beer brewing building Tumwater Washington. I've been there inside, and toured the new one before they closed it. I hope they finally decide to save the place . it's been a on and off discussion about it since right before they finally closed down production in the new brewery.
