Isn't it very expensive to maintain all the 800 military bases worldwide...?!! Some are neglected ti the point of being abandoned. Some are redundant. Some of the bases are turned into chemjcal and biological warfare research centres. 26 of the most valuable ones in the Gulf States were bombed to rubbles. Shut down. Holding on is futile.
