have you ever worn a brace? most braces are bulkier than they look, and even if it can technically fit under, that doesnt mean it's comfortable or safe as it can cause chafing/pressure injuries. I wear afos (foot to calf) and functional knee braces (calf to mid-thigh) and unless im wearing my extra wide jeans I wear the braces on top of my trousers.

Oh my gosh the fabric knee braces over jeans drive me crazy. I only wear them above if it’s leggings bcs my they tight n black on black isn’t that bad

Braces under the clothes is majorly uncomfortable and doesn’t actually work most of the time tbh, though seeing thoughts like this does make it feel embarrassing to need the support 😅 I hate even wearing knee sleeves in the summer bc it’s visible bc of this mentality

Why does this bother you? It sucks having the brace rub against straight skin sometimes and is rlly bulky under clothes. I genuinely am so confused why people get so mad at people for wearing braces 😭😭

When I had to wear a knee brace I hid that mf cuz I didn’t want to be one of those girls 😂 but luckily it was a fabric compression one so I had no issues getting my clothes on

that’s what was instructed by my dr and the brace can’t be washed I’m not gonna get it all sweaty and stinky and not be able to wear it 😭

Let me help you understand, most braces are designed to be worn with a separation barrier between them and your skin. Generally it is a snug fit sleeve or clothing.

brace on bare skin gives me an allergic reaction after a while (so does anything adhesive ie kinesiology tape, bandaids etc) and also can be uncomfortable and cause rubbing under pants like jeans

Some braces rub so they’re more comfortable with a layer of cloth under them. And the whole point to wearing one is to be more comfortable

from experience i can say knee braces are super uncomfortable under clothes unless it’s super baggy so idk i get ankle braces for sure tho

I understand wearing an ankle brace over your sock bc under would be really uncomfortable but if your going to the extent to tuck your pants into it that’s just weird. I wear a brace majority of the time rn and never once have I ever put my ANKLE brace over my pants.

1. Sometimes it genuinely just doesn't fit under the clothes. The one I have straps on from top and bottom and that would NOT fit under a pair of jeans that aren't like 1.5 inch baggy. 2. Sometimes it just brings more stability in how tight it feels on that area. Just some ideas from the top of my head as someone that uses them, there's probably multiple more but I think we need to just stop judging people who are trying to be comfortable and supported by their aids.

some times the pants are too tight. I only wear one over the pants if I'm wearing like leggings or skinny jeans or flares jeans that are tight above the knew

I can’t find a knee brace that actually fits and doesn’t puff out away from my knee. So if it’s outside I can keep adjusting it. I’ve tried 5 and all do the same. It does absolutely nothing for stability.
